WHAT IS KLOSET CLEANOUT

Kloset Cleanout is KK’s managed resale service. We help selected sellers clean out their Klosets by quality checking each item, listing and selling their preloved clothes on Kloset Klub.

DO I NEED TO UPLOAD THE ITEMS MYSELF?

No. That is the point. Once you've book for our service, KK manages the listing process for you.

WHAT MAKES A GREAT SELLING KLOSET?

The klosets that sell fastest have three things in common.

• Quality items from recognisable brands, great photos or videos of the pieces being worn, and an owner who shares their kloset link with their community.

• People buy from people they know and trust. When you post your kloset on social media and let your followers know it is live, sales follow.

• We create all the artwork and content for you to share. You just post it.

HOW MANY ITEMS DO I NEED?

We require a minimum of 40 quality items and can take up to 120 items per kloset.

This ensures your kloset has enough variety to attract buyers and gives us enough to work with across photography, marketing, and promotion.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM RESALE VALUE?

R800 or above. Buyers choose preloved because they see real value in what they are getting. A piece worth R1,500 selling for R800 makes complete sense.

Below that price, the value becomes harder to see and a buyer naturally starts weighing up whether a brand-new item at a similar price is the better choice.

Our buyers are savvy. They know quality when they see it and that is exactly the standard we help you meet.

WHAT DO YOU NOT ACCEPT?

We do not accept fast fashion from brands like Shein, Temu, Mr Price, Pep, or Jet, etc.

We do not accept items that are heavily worn, stained, damaged, or altered in any way. If an item would not sell for R800 or more in excellent condition, it does not qualify.

We would rather be honest with you upfront than waste your time.

WHAT BRANDS SELL WELL?

KK buyers usually look for premium high-street, occasionwear, local designers, streetwear and quality wardrobe staples.

We do not prioritise low-value basics, heavily worn items, counterfeit pieces or ultra-fast fashion.

IS ZARA ACCEPTABLE?

Selected Zara pieces, yes. We accept Zara from the Studio or premium range in excellent condition.

Everyday or heavily worn Zara does not meet our threshold.

DO I NEED TO WASH MY ITEMS BEFORE COLLECTION?

Yes. Everything must be freshly hand washed or dry cleaned before we collect. This is the one thing we ask of you and it makes a real difference to how quickly items sell.

We currently collect in the Johannesburg northern suburbs & surrounding areas, this includes:

I'M NOT IN JOBURG, CAN I STILL USE KLOSET CLEANOUT?

Not just yet. We are intentionally starting in Joburg to make sure we do this properly before we expand.

If you are based in Cape Town, Durban or elsewhere, drop us a message and we will let you know when we reach your area.

WHAT HAPPENS TO ITEMS THAT DO NOT QUALIFY?

We will let you know honestly at the assessment stage, before we collect anything. You keep those items and only hand over what we have confirmed qualifies. No surprises.

HOW LONG BEFORE MY ITEMS ARE LISTED?

If you have photos or a video of yourself wearing the item, we can have it listed within 5 to 7 working days of collection.

If not, we need to shoot the items ourselves and listing can take up to 14 to 21 working days.

The more content you have, the faster your kloset goes live.

WHO SETS THE PRICE?

You do, with our guidance. We share what similar items are selling for on the platform so you can make an informed decision.

You always have the final say on your prices.

CAN I SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH MY KLOSET?

Yes, everything. Every sale, every order, every message to buyers, and every rand you earn is visible in your Kloset Klub profile at all times.

Your wallet balance, order status, and buyer communication are all there whenever you want to check in.

HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?

When a buyer purchases your item, their payment is held safely by our payment provider until they confirm they are happy with their order.

Once confirmed, your 55% is released to your Kloset Klub wallet.

From there you can withdraw to your bank account at any time, or use your balance to shop other items on the platform.

WHAT ABOUT STORAGE? WHO PAYS FOR THAT?

We do. Once we collect your pieces, storage is completely on us. You pay nothing, you store nothing. Your wardrobe space is yours back from day one.

HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP MY ITEMS FOR?

We work on an 8-week selling window.

If an item does not sell by the end of 8 weeks, we will contact you before making any next move. You can choose to have unsold pieces returned to you, donated to the Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni Foundation, or reviewed for a further selling period if we believe they still have strong resale potential.

We never make that call without you.

DO I NEED A KLOSET KLUB ACCOUNT?

Yes. We open and manage your kloset on the platform on your behalf, but you will have full access to your account so you can log in and see everything at any time.
