SELL IT YOURSELF OR LET US MANAGE IT?

Two ways to sell quality fashion. One gives you more control. The other gives you your time back.

BOOK A KLOSET CLEANOUT

WHICH WAY SHOULD YOU SELL YOUR CLOTHES?

Selling clothes yourself gives you more control and allows you to keep a larger share of every completed sale.

Using a managed consignment service removes the photography, listings, buyer communication, storage and selling administration from your workload.

Neither option is automatically better.

The right choice depends on:

  • How many suitable items you have.
  • How much time you can give the process.
  • How involved you want to be.
  • The likely resale value of the wardrobe.
  • Whether you are based within the managed service area.

Kloset Klub gives you both options.

With self-service selling, you prepare and manage the listings yourself and keep 95% of the selling price after the 5% seller success fee.

With Kloset Cleanout, a Kloset Manager handles the managed resale process and you keep 55% of every completed sale.

Kloset Cleanout is currently available for selected wardrobes in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

TWO WAYS TO SELL ON KLOSET KLUB

Choose the selling model that matches your wardrobe, time and level of involvement.

SELL IT YOURSELF

Self-service selling gives you control over the complete process.

You:

  • Select the items.
  • Take the photographs or videos.
  • Write the product details.
  • Set the prices.
  • Publish the listings.
  • Respond to buyers.
  • Prepare sold orders.
  • Follow the order and payout process.

You keep 95% of the listed selling price after Kloset Klub's 5% seller success fee.

Self-service is best when you have the time, confidence and smaller volume required to manage the work consistently.

LET US MANAGE IT

Kloset Cleanout gives you a professionally managed resale Kloset.

Kloset Klub handles:

  • Wardrobe assessment.
  • Collection coordination.
  • Sorting and quality checking.
  • Photography.
  • Pricing guidance.
  • Product descriptions.
  • Listing uploads.
  • Buyer communication.
  • Storage during the selling period.
  • Order administration.
  • Seller reporting and payout visibility.

You keep 55% of the listed selling price when an item sells.

The managed service is designed for selected wardrobes in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

WHAT ARE YOU REALLY CHOOSING?

The difference is not whether your clothes can be sold. It is who takes responsibility for the work.

The main difference between self-service and managed resale is not the platform.

It is the amount of time, control and responsibility you want to carry.

SELF-SERVICE PROTECTS YOUR MARGIN

When you sell the items yourself, you keep a larger percentage of every completed sale.

That makes sense when:

  • You enjoy creating listings.
  • You have time to manage buyers.
  • You want to approve every detail.
  • You can prepare and dispatch orders promptly.
  • You have a smaller number of items.
  • You already understand online resale.

The trade-off is that you are responsible for keeping the process moving.

A listing that is never completed, priced properly or managed consistently cannot produce a sale.

MANAGED RESALE PROTECTS YOUR TIME

Kloset Cleanout is designed for people who have quality clothes but do not want to turn a wardrobe cleanout into another job.

A Kloset Manager coordinates the operating work required to prepare, present and manage approved items.

This gives you back the time normally spent on:

  • Sorting.
  • Photographing.
  • Measuring.
  • Writing descriptions.
  • Researching prices.
  • Uploading products.
  • Answering buyer questions.
  • Tracking multiple listings.
  • Managing sold orders.
  • Keeping the wardrobe organised while it sells.

The managed service does not maximise the percentage you keep.

It reduces the workload you carry.

SELF-SERVICE GIVES YOU DIRECT CONTROL

With self-service selling, you make every decision.

You control:

  • Which items are listed.
  • When they go live.
  • How they are photographed.
  • The initial price.
  • Buyer communication.
  • How actively you promote the Kloset.

That level of control works well when you want to remain closely involved.

It also means the results depend heavily on how consistently you manage the process.

A KLOSET MANAGER GIVES YOU OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

With Kloset Cleanout, you still retain visibility and approve the initial pricing.

However, Kloset Klub manages the operating process.

Your Kloset Manager helps turn the wardrobe into:

  • Selected inventory.
  • Prepared products.
  • Consistent photography.
  • Clear listings.
  • Realistic resale prices.
  • A visible digital Kloset.
  • Managed buyer and order activity.

You do not lose access to the Kloset.

You stop carrying the daily workload behind it.

THE REAL QUESTION

The question is not simply:

"Which option costs less?"

The better question is:

"Do I want to manage the selling process myself, or would I rather share the sale and have the work managed for me?"

Choose the answer that reflects how you genuinely want to use your time.

WHICH OPTION FITS YOUR WARDROBE?

Use the size, value and condition of your wardrobe to make the decision.

IS KLOSET CLEANOUT THE SAME AS CONSIGNMENT?

Yes.

Kloset Cleanout is a managed fashion consignment service.

Kloset Klub prepares and sells approved items on your behalf, and the proceeds from completed sales are shared according to the managed service model.

The experience is built around a visible digital Kloset rather than a traditional store rail.

WHERE IS KLOSET CLEANOUT AVAILABLE?

Kloset Cleanout is currently available for selected wardrobes in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

In Johannesburg, current service areas include:

  • Sandton.
  • Rosebank.
  • Hyde Park.
  • Parkhurst.
  • Melrose.
  • Bryanston.
  • Morningside.
  • Illovo.
  • Craighall.
  • Dunkeld.
  • Waterfall.
  • Selected surrounding areas.

In Cape Town, collection is currently available across the:

  • Atlantic Seaboard.
  • City Bowl.
  • Southern Suburbs.

Your exact service availability is confirmed after Kloset Klub reviews your wardrobe, the number of suitable items and the collection location.

Kloset Cleanout is not currently available outside Johannesburg and Cape Town.

CAN I START WITH SELF-SERVICE AND MOVE TO MANAGED SELLING LATER?

Yes.

You can begin by listing selected items yourself and later book a Kloset Cleanout if your wardrobe volume and location meet the managed service criteria.

The two selling options are designed for different needs.

They do not prevent you from changing your approach later.

CAN I USE BOTH OPTIONS AT THE SAME TIME?

Yes, provided the same item is not being actively managed through both processes.

You may choose to manage some listings yourself while Kloset Klub manages a separate approved selection through Kloset Cleanout.

The items included in the managed Kloset are confirmed before collection.

DO I APPROVE THE MANAGED KLOSET PRICES?

Yes.

Kloset Klub provides pricing guidance using factors such as:

  • Brand.
  • Category.
  • Condition.
  • Original retail positioning.
  • Current buyer demand.
  • Comparable resale items.
  • Recent selling data.

You retain final approval over the initial listing prices.

HOW LONG ARE MANAGED ITEMS LISTED?

Kloset Cleanout currently operates with an agreed 8-week selling window.

Preparation time before the Kloset goes live depends on the number of items, photography requirements and whether suitable existing content is available.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY MANAGED ITEMS DO NOT SELL?

If an approved item has not sold by the end of the agreed selling period, you can choose to:

  • Have the item returned to you.
  • Donate the item through Kloset Klub's partnership with the Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni Foundation.

The foundation supports young women and men from underserved communities in Eldorado Park.

When you choose to donate the unsold pieces, the foundation's team can arrange to collect them directly from Kloset Klub.

Nothing is donated without your permission.

Kloset Klub contacts you so you can confirm what should happen to every unsold item.

WHAT HAPPENS TO ITEMS THAT DO NOT QUALIFY?

Kloset Klub confirms which pieces meet the managed resale criteria before collection or during the agreed wardrobe assessment process.

Items that do not qualify remain with you and do not move into the photography, listing or storage process.

This protects your time and helps maintain the quality of the Kloset Klub buyer experience.

WHICH OPTION COSTS LESS?

Self-service has the lower percentage fee because you carry the listing and selling workload yourself.

You keep 95% after Kloset Klub's 5% seller success fee.

With Kloset Cleanout, you keep 55% because Kloset Klub manages the full resale process.

The right comparison is not only the percentage.

It is the percentage together with the time, labour and operating support included.

WHICH OPTION IS MORE LIKELY TO SELL?

Neither option guarantees a sale.

Selling performance depends on:

  • Product demand.
  • Brand.
  • Condition.
  • Category.
  • Season.
  • Photography.
  • Pricing.
  • Buyer trust.
  • How consistently the Kloset is managed.

A strong self-service seller can achieve good results.

A Kloset Manager can improve consistency by applying one managed process across the wardrobe.

WHICH OPTION SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Choose self-service when you want direct control, have the time to manage the process and want to keep a larger share of every sale.

Choose Kloset Cleanout when your wardrobe has enough suitable value, you are based in Johannesburg or Cape Town and you want the selling work managed for you.
